*  Brett Stalbaum and Ricardo Dominguez conceive idea of Transborder Tools for Immigrants, later renamed the Transborder Immigrant Tool
* November, News of the development of the Transborder Immigrant Tool circulates across PBS and elsewhere. 
* The Transborder Immigrant Tool receives funding from the Transborder Initiatives Award: to purchase the phones and to develop the poetry for the project.

2008
* March 19th-21st, Virtual Sit-In, which would become part of Ricardo Dominguez's successful tenure case.

2009
* August 27th - September 1st, 2009, project demo at ISEA gallery presentation, Dublin* 
* November, Vice Magazine publishes profile of the project.  Boing Boing picks up the story Nov. 13.
* December 6, wide range of news media publicize and scrutinize the project.

2010
* January 11, UC begins financial audit of TIT, "in which they requested that every member involved be interviewed by Audit & Management  Advisory Services."
* April 23, Arizona Governor Jan Brewer signs SB 1070, an unprecedented law that had reignited a nation-wide
debate over immigration.
* March 2, Markyudof.com announces that UC President Mark Yudof will be stepping down. 
* March 4th, Virtual Sit-in, which will become the subject of the  investigation. bang.calit2.net hosted a virtual sit-in against the UC Office of the President website.
* March 7, EDT publishes an op-ed piece about the TIT in the San Diego Union Tribune.
Congressman Duncan Hunter, R., 57th District, publishes a response in the same issue
* March 8, Over 200 students join rally in support of Ricardo Dominguez and for education reform
* March 21, bang.lab notified that a member is being investigated for the Markyudof.com announcement. 
* March 31, UCPD enter Ricardo Dominguez's office and announce their investigation of him. 
* April 8, Protest march in support of Ricardo Dominguez leads to the site of the inquisition.
* July 21st,  Brett Stalbuam makes formal statement to UCSD Police.  Also, project assessed to be an appropriate use of fund
July 23,  Brett Stalbuam releases the source code at CCS @ USC conference
* Sept. 1, Glenn Beck airs a piece on TIT on his Fox News program.

2011
* June 4th, the Transborder Immigrant Tool was walked into Tijuana,  Mexico via a tunnel from the U.S. side of the border by artist Marlène Ramírez-Cancio.
