Help reading this book

How to read this project.

There are three main paths:
1. Who am I?: A guide to the author of this project and the personal journey I have taken to heal with art.
2. Changing Ways: A look at the work I did with Changing Ways, a group of formerly incarcerated men who were serving life sentences.
3. Capoeira: Connections between art, healing and capoeira and how capoeira relates to Theatre of the Oppressed.

Within these main paths, you will find many subpaths to create a web of interconnectivity. As creativity is not a linear process, I have hoped to create a creative project that is non-linear as well. With the spirit of trickster, I have created some hidden doorways for you to discover more about particular topics. Hidden within the main path are many detours and vista points. Any words that you see in blue or green will lead to deeper understanding and related topics. You can hover over or click each of those words to get more details.

Also, several pages have tags on them. By clicking the tags, you can leave the linear pathways and see several related items connected from the three main pathways. Again, this is to illustrate the complexity and connectedness of all of the paths.

Please take time to explore the interconnectedness.

This is a work in progress, evolving as I evolve and find new connections, evolving as others leave comments on what they see and read. This project is meant to promote dialogue; please let your voice be heard.

Thank you and enjoy!

Sarah
