Body Map: An Excerpt

2). Location: Right shoulder blade. Rather, the muscle underneath.

Cause: PERSISTENT ACHE FROM THE PASSING OF MY NEPHEW, WOLFGANG. STILLBORN.

Diagnosis: Unable to deal with his death, I kept Wolfgang in my body. Never giving myself time to breathe, cry and process the loss, I kept Wolfgang in my body.

Treatment: Cry, cry, cry. Deep tissue massage 1 1/2 years later that releases the knot. Theatre and Therapy with Mady. Embodied Poetics.

Follow Up: Wolfgang is still with me, but he doesn’t hurt anymore. He still has residence in my shoulder, but lives healthily in my heart.
